Back to Plymouth for year 3!

Hi All! Sorry this blog is late I completely forgot it was my turn! Well after a rather uneventful summer I returned to Plymouth yesterday to begin my third and final year!! scary! The end of the summer was the most exciting time for me as I went on a field trip to Iceland with 40 other geography students for 10 days. It was a fantastic trip I learnt so much and although Iceland is an expensive country I would recommend a visit as there are few other places in the world with such diverse landscape and scenery. At one point on the trip our 4 x 4 coach was struggling to get up some mountain tracks and began tiliting sideways and I really thought we were going to tumble down a hillside...I have never prayed so much in such a short space of time and needless to say we didn't tumble down a hill and the situation was resovled! I'm going to be extrememly busy this term, with a first draft of my dissertation to complete and various other assignments, as well as being third team hockey captain this year. Hopefully I haven't taken on too much! Best of luck to everyone for the autumn.

Pray for:
- Minimum amount of stress during a busy university terms
- Organisational skills
- Enjoyment of the final university year and some insight as to what to do with my life after university, at the moment I'm not sure!

Praise for:
- A fun and safe field trip
- Gods beautiful landscape.

BACK TO UNI

Hey All,
I know that last year i didn't write a single blog and this year i am already late with my first, even though my dates are written on the calender ( which controls my life) ! I do however intend to try and keep up to date or at least be a day late. So here it goes:
I'm back in Winchester now and have settled nicely into my new house. My course doesn't start until Monday and so i have been catching up with friends and possibly drinking a little... I've also been hurriedly trying to find my school books as this year I'm doing full course theology which i do find very challenging so will be reading manically just to keep up with everyone else.
I love Winchester I'm living in the private sector this year but sharing a house with the same people i did last year. They are a good bunch and I know all their habits so nothing to shocking should happen!

In Winchester I have found a really nice church who are active and lively it has over 50 children who attend the Sunday school so we do have our hands filled, its so welcoming its lovely to have somewhere to go when i am feeling homesick.I know you'll probably think homesick? shes only just down the road but really you should check out the train fairs!

Over the holidays I worked for the Berkshire MS therapy Centre which is a charity that helps people with MS get treatment that isn't offered on the NHS. It was lovely working there everyone was so friendly and by the end of three months id felt like I had worked there for years. What was really nice was the amount of time i got to spend with the 'patients' everyone helps out so there is such a feeling of community there. If anyone reading this is stuck for something to do on October the 7th you could always join us on a sponsored walk to raise money to help the centre. There are choices of short to long... enough of my plugging. It was just really nice to be working somewhere where so much work is being done to help people. What I did find amusing was the fact that i felt like i was doing far more work there and that uni is starting to feel like my holidays, maybe i should be worried.

It has been so good reading what everyone is up to I hope you continue to enjoy where you all are and those at home i mean you as well.

God bless you and keep you

Abi xXx
